Lenovo A706 phone not charging

My Lenovo A706 phone is not charging. When I plugin the charger, the phone starts charging , but stops within 2 or 3 seconds. 


Then, 

I restarted the phone, DID NOT WORKED,
I switched off phone and charged, DID NOT WORKED,
I switched off phone and after few minutes I started it and then charged, DID NOT WORKED,

Once I have took a backup of my phone which I have used to restore,  WORKED, 
If you have not took the phone, then uninstall / clear data of few apps and then try.


Suggestion:
Always take a back of your apps/data/settings of phone, when the phone is good working condition (using lenovo's inbuilt 'Backup & Restore' app)
